Beneficiaries of Black/Gold Gala 2008

1. First Responders Fund – picked because it helps families of firemen, police and EMS get back on their feet after Katrina, which helps New Orleans feel safer knowing that the ones on the forefront are working for them

2. Make it Right Nola – picked because it is providing homes for those who have been displaced. By Hurricane Katrina in the lower 9th ward. Payton’s Play It Forward will sponsor the building of one home

3. Dr. Phil Foundation – $1,000.000 Children’s Challenge works diligently on behalf of children to make sure they are safe…they have done their homework on children’s issues throughout the US and will focus on agencies working in Louisiana to help children. His national venue can also spotlight the continued needs in Louisiana.

The balance of funds raised will be set aside for local non-profit agencies to write grant requests to the foundation. All grant proposals will be reviewed by Board of Directors and chosen according to need and fit to foundation mission.
